Tamala Brooks is the mother of Tanesha Roberts and one of the DDPs.
Personal Life[]
Tamala Brooks was born on June 22, 1979, in Meridian, Mississippi. She has three daughters: Kendria, Tamiah and Tanesha, from her first marriage) . On October 8, 2016, Tamala married Javious "Jay" Brooks.
She has 2 grandchildren, a grandson called Kylen Davis and a granddaughter called Kamorah Davis. Their mother is her daughter Kendria.
She attended Meridian High School and then Meridian Community College.

Season 3[]
Tamala is seen participating in the 'Buck Or Die Booth' during this special episode.
Tamala is in the car with her daughter, Tanesha, where they discuss her nervous spell at the competition a few weeks ago. Tamala tells her that she will be coming to every competition and sitting in the viewing room so she can support her more.
After entering the viewing room, she receives a cold reception from the mothers.
The next day, Tamala removes herself from the viewing room after an argument breaks out between Rittany and Dana.
At the competition, Tamala comes to find Tanesha before the stand battle finals. She sees her daughter is feeling nervous again and she manages to calm her down.
Tamala and Dana are talking about the pressures their daughters have been under recently. They dismiss Mimi's concerns for her own daughter, which angers Mimi who storms out of the viewing room.
The mothers are having a pageant the next day and Tamala is dressed as Charkeitha from Xplosive Dance Company.
Spilling the Tea Reunion Special
Tamala joins the other mothers in this reunion special episode. She discusses Tanesha's panic attacks and her opinion on Miss D's coaching style, which she compliments.
The other mothers are discussing the arguments that ensued in Ratchicity!, and they express showing no remorse for their actions. Tamala is shocked by this and tells the other mothers that she is going to bring along her friend who is a therapist. The other mothers feel sceptical of this.
Around 8pm, Tamala's friend arrives and she tries to help the mothers redirect their anger in these difficult situations and express it more healthily. The mothers find this session helpful.
Due to Selena not arriving at the viewing room, Tamala goes outside to investigate. She finds Selena standing outside the Dollhouse on the porch. Selena says she feels uncomfortable with the other mothers and Tamala encourages her to come and sit in the viewing room. The pair go back to the viewing room but tension is in the air.
The day before the competition, Tamala has taken the rest of the DDPs to play laser tag to relieve some of the tension. Tamala is on a team with Selena and Dana and their team wins.
Tamala and Rittany decide to prank call Tyrus from the Elite Starz of Nashville, who quickly figures out the call is fake.
Season 4[]
Tamala says in an interview that one of the dancers from the Prancing Tigerettes is "...one the best majorette dancers in the South".
