Summary[]
This week's competition is in Atlanta, Georgia at the 'Buck Or Die' competition. There will be a trio. There is also a freestyling hip hop competition in Jackson, Mississippi.
THREE DAYS TO THE COMPETITION
Miss D addresses the drama from Crystianna last week and she has still not heard from either Crystianna or Valisa. Marquell suspects that the pair are too embarrassed to make contact.
There will be a trio this week and Dianna is letting the four seniors have their teams and the teams will compete against each other. The seniors are Camryn, Faith, Makalah, and Ken'Janae. In Faith's team are Kanarie, Jaylene, and Daija. She has been given all of the girls who are strong on technique. In Camryn's team are Tanesha, Princess, Shakira, and Star. She has been given very versatile dancers. In Makalah's team are Haleigh, Madyson, and Sky. She has been given girls who are good at tricks and stunts. In Ken'Janae's team are Jerry, Angela, Trevon, and Timothy. She has been given dancers who are good at hip hop. The teams with four people must cut one of the dancers.
Camryn is also going to prom this week and she will miss the competition. She is saddened that she won't be there.
Ken'Janae's theme is the movie 'Black Panther', they start practising without Jerry as he cannot be there that day. Makalah's team will have a circus theme and will incorporate a lot of tricks. Faith struggles to come up with choreography for her team. Camryn does not yet have a theme but she has started work on the choreography and will add in the theme's elements later.
TWO DAYS TO THE COMPETITION
Miss D asks for each team to perform later and she will knock the number of teams from four to two. The teams go off to practice.
Team Camryn is doing a NASCAR theme and Miss D notices that Shakira is working hard to get higher up in the team. Team Makalah are attempting to create some stunts for their circus-themed trio. Team Faith's theme is the doll, the Bratz; Faith is feeling more confident with her team than she did yesterday. Team Ken'Janae are working on their routine and Ken'Janae notes that only Angela has picked up the choreography.
Dianna asks to see the trios and Ken'Janae's team is the first to perform. Her team performs poorly and Dianna cuts her team from the competition. Team Faith is next and Dianna likes the performance. Team Makalah is next and Dianna likes the high-energy performance and the tricks. Team Camryn is the final team to perform and Star forgets the choreography halfway through.
Miss D, Makya, and Marquell discuss the groups and each has their merits. Team Makalah is cut from the running. Camryn is asked to cut someone from the group and she cuts Star. The team is dismissed and the boys leave feeling defeated at getting cut again.
ONE DAY TO THE COMPETITION
Marquell has taken the boys out for lunch and he asks the boys how they feel about being cut. They feel disappointed that they weren't given the chance to show Dianna what they could do. Marquell tells the boys there is a hip hop freestyle competition he is going to take them to this weekend. The boys are excited.
Both of the remaining teams perform their trio's for Miss D and Shakira forgets some of the choreography whilst Camryn's team is performing. Faith's trio performs well and Miss D likes that she can see Faith's personality in the routine. Miss D chooses Team Camryn as her routine is 'grimy' like the teams they are competing against.
THE DAY OF THE COMPETITION
Over with the boys, Marquell has brought them to the freestyling competition in Jackson. The freestyle competition begins and Timothy is chosen to compete in the first round. He wins his round. Quad is chosen for the second round and he wins his round also. Tre and Trevon are battling against each other in the next round and Tre wins.
In the second round of the competition, Quad and Tre get eliminated. Timothy is the final boy left to compete in the third round of the competition. Timothy performs well but so does his opponent. Timothy lost. Marquell speaks to the boys after and congratulates them for how well they did.
Camryn is getting ready for her prom and she calls the team to give them a pep talk.
The competition begins with Empire Dance Company performing their trio which is madhouse-themed. The DDPs liked the routine and were worried for their team's trio. Lil Geek Skquad perform next and then Too Much Dance. It is finally the Dolls' turn to compete and Shakira is feeling nervous about remembering the choreography. Miss D uses Daija, Faith, and Ken'Janae to create the scene of a race car driver for the routine and the other coaches complain that they have too many dancers. Miss D defends herself and walks away.
