Season 3[]
Kayla joins the mothers and Dianna for a game where she is the judge. Later in the show, she joins the mothers on the couches, along with Nashamba, and gets asked about her transition from captain to assistant coach. Kayla is given a gift from Miss D, which is a clipboard with the words "What Would Miss D Do?". Kayla shows off her gift when some of the Dolls join them on the couches.
Kayla and Miss D are having a meeting in Dianna's office where they discuss the loss of some of their senior dancers and the need to recruit more dancers to the battle squad. They also talk about the pressures Camryn will be under as the new captain of the team.
On the day of the competition, the Divas of Compton and the Dolls are tied after the stand battle and call-out round and the host announces there will be a coaches battle. Kayla steps up to compete in the coaches battle and Coach Kehli tries to mock Kayla during the battle. Kayla wins the coaches battle and thus the Dolls win the street battle.
Kayla and Dianna are in Dianna's office discussing the previous week's competition and the creative dance they have planned for the week. Later on, the girls are auditioning to be the soloist in the creative dance and Kayla and Miss D are giving out criticisms to the dancers. They choose Crystianna as the soloist. After Crystianna gets injured, Kayla and Miss D agree to have Makya as her replacement.
Kayla is in Dianna's office when Dianna enters and informs her about the phone call from the prop master. The prop master cannot make the props Dianna requested on time and the pair brainstorm ideas for what they can do instead. They agree to ask the parents for their input.
After a bad practice for the field show, Kayla takes the battle squad back to the dance studio as Miss D talks to the rest of the team. Later on, the battle squad are practising late for the stand battle. At the end of practice, Kayla pulls Camryn aside and tells her she needs to show more authority with the team now she is the captain.
Kayla's mother is getting married and Miss D announces this to the team. On the day of the competition, Kayla and Dianna come across the coaches of the Dazzling Divas of Macon and they all have a discussion.
Miss D gives Kayla the responsibility of choreographing the creative dance due to her background in hip hop. Kayla struggles to keep the girls' attention and Miss D speak up multiple times.
The next day, Kayla continues to struggle and Miss D calls her over, telling her that she is taking over the practice. Kayla is upset over this but practice continues. At the end of practice, Miss D compliments Kayla's choreography but she tells her that her teaching needs some improvement. This makes Kayla feel better and they decide to work as a team.
The creative dance goes well at the competition and it wins first place.
Kayla and Dianna are back in Dianna's office and are discussing last week's competition when Mimi comes into the office. Kayla sits back as Mimi tries to convince Dianna to choose Camryn as the soloist for the Battle Royale.
The next day, Kayla is helping Crystianna with her solo audition for the Battle Royale and she tells her she is a great dancer.
A new coach, Andre, is brought into the Dollhouse as the team's stand battle coach for the week and Kayla feels unsettled. Tina is not happy to see Andre and she talks to Miss D at the end of practice about her feelings towards Andre. Miss D says that Kayla is an adult now and she can express any concerns herself.
The next day, Kayla apologises to Dianna for her mother's behaviour and that she wishes she could do more for the team. Miss D is impressed with Kayla's maturity.
Miss D and Kayla come across John and Quincy who are discussing their teams in the hallway of the competition venue. The pair join John and Quincy in a discussion about their respective teams.
Face the Music! It's the Finale!
Miss D reveals that she is using some alumni, the Baby Dancing Dolls, and Kayla, Tim, and Jay for the stand battle at the Battle Royale. Kayla also performs in a stand with Sunjai, Caleda, and Breanna. The team win the creative dance and the Battle Royale overall.
Spilling the Tea Reunion Special
Kayla and Tamala join Miss D and the mothers on this reunion special episode.
Miss D reveals there will be a Doll vs. Doll competition with Dianna leading one team and Kayla leading the other. Camryn is the captain of Kayla's team and their team is kicked out of the studio by Dianna. Mimi, Tina, and Selena follow Kayla's team to the other studio.
Kayla comes up with the idea to give Star a solo in one of the stands, as the twins are in separate teams. The next day, Tina comes inside the studio and gives Kayla some suggestions for choreography. The girls enjoy Tina's routine and Kayla decides to utilise it in one of their stands.
On the day of the competition, Kayla and Dianna meet outside the venue and both are confident in their team's chances of winning. The teams begin the competition and Kayla's team successfully perform a stand with acrobatics. The judges are giving out critiques and one of the judges, Tyrus, tells Kayla that their baby team was all over the place. Kayla's team lost the first stand battle.
In the second stand battle, Kayla utilises the moves Tina came up with as well as Star's solo. They get positive critiques and Team Kayla wins the second stand battle. The teams move on to the call-out round and Kayla has chosen Camryn, Kanarie, and Daija to compete for her team. Each of her dancers win their round and thus Team Kayla wins the competition.
Dianna tells Kayla that Neva emailed her and challenged the Dolls to a competition.
The next day, Dianna is away with the Birmingham Dancing Dolls and she has left Kayla in charge of the Jackson team. Kayla trains numerous new dancers.
The day after, Kayla and Tina go on a walk and Kayla feels excited about being in charge for the week.
Kayla is dressed as a mad scientist for the introduction to this week's creative dance.
Miss D and Kayla pick six girls for the freestyling round of the competition. Two of the girls that are chosen are Faith and Daija and before the second day of practice, she meets up with the girls to help them with their freestyling. Kayla brings along some friends and they train Faith and Daija. Kayla notes that the girls have improved by the end of their meeting.
After the third day of practice, Crystianna meets up with Kayla to get help with her freestyling. Kayla sees improvement in Crystianna as well by the end of the night.
Kayla is left in charge of practice when Dianna leaves early for a date with her husband.
Scholarship Dreams and Dating Nightmares
The girls are auditioning to participate in a showcase for the Mississippi Valley State University Satin Dolls. Kayla auditions but she is cut by Coach Ariel. Kayla then helps the chosen girls prepare for dancing in the bleachers for the showcase. She gets annoyed when the girls incorrectly take off their capes at the showcase.
The creative dance is inspired by the history of African Americans and after one day of practice, Kayla and Miss D are worried that the girls are not connecting with the concept of the routine. The next day, the Dolls are dancing better and Kayla and Dianna are impressed with them. The routine goes well at the competition and the Dolls are awarded second place.
There is a choreographer's challenge at the competition this week and Kayla holds a workshop for the girls who want to participate in it. She makes Star perform the whole routine they were taught by herself whilst the other girls cheer her on.
