Daija Wilson is a dancer from Natchez, Mississippi. She is formally a member of the Dancing Dolls. Her mother is Shameka Wilson, who has featured a few times on the show.
Personal Life[]
Daija Michelle Wilson was born on March 12, 2001 in Natchez, Mississippi to Shameka Wilson and her father. Daija has four siblings; Deonte Wilson, Daiveon Wilson, Mizani Wilson and Daylin Wilson (half-sibling).
She was inducted into the National Junior Honours Society whilst attending Bailey APAC Middle School.
Daija began attending Murrah High School in 2015 and graduating in 2019. During her time there, she became Freshman Maid. In 2016, she was awarded a full scholarship to Mississippi Valley State University and their dance team, the Satin Dolls. In 2017, she was inducted into the National Honours Society as well as becoming the 2017-18 Junior Maid at her high school. In 2018, she became the 2018-19 Homecoming Queen in her senior year of high school. She graduated from the Dancing Dolls in 2019.
She attended Alabama State University in 2019 until 2023. She made it on to the dance team, the Sensational Stingettes, from 2019 to 2022.
She began attending Texas Southern University in 2022. She is going to the School of Nursing.

Season 2[]
This is Daija's first appearance on the show.
Season 3[]
This is Daija's first official mention on the show. Dianna is doing a snow globe-themed creative dance which will feature three different genres of dance; hip hop, jazz, and ballet. Daija auditions to be the ballet soloist. She performs well but Faith is chosen to be the soloist.
The creative dance is based on the music group TLC and Daija is auditioning for the role of T-Boz, one of the members of TLC. She is up against Faith and Denicia and Denicia is given the role.
Daija is on Kayla's team and she competes in the first round of the call-out round against Makalah. Daija impresses the crowd and wins. This episode features Daija's first interview.
Daija has been chosen to compete in the call-out round this week. She loses her battle to a dancer from the Divas of Compton.
Daija is one of six girls chosen to participate in the freestyling showdown in the competition. Daija and Faith meet with Kayla and she helps them with their freestyling. Both girls show improvement with the help of Kayla and her friend.
At the competition, Daija is replaced by Kanarie and she does not compete.
The team are working on a new stand called "Circle, Diagonal, Straight Line" and Daija, Faith, and Camryn all have solos in this stand. The stand is performed well in the stand battle.
Scholarship Dreams and Dating Nightmares
The Dolls are performing in a showcase hosted by the Satin Dolls of Mississippi Valley State University. Coach Ariel is doing cuts for the girls as she has experience dancing at a collegiate level. Daija is almost cut.
She makes it to the performance and after the Dolls perform in the bleachers, the judges choose the top five dancers and Daija is one of the top five. Each girl performs a solo and Daija is chosen as the winner and she is awarded a scholarship to the Satin Dolls.
There is a creative trio at the competition this week and Dianna decides to do a trio of trios. Each trio will perform using a different style of dance; contemporary, hip hop, and majorette. Daija is chosen to perform in the contemporary trio along with Faith and Kanarie.
Daija makes it to the final round of the choreographer's challenge but she does not win.
Season 4[]
Coach Tim is training the girls for the choreographer's challenge at the competition and he holds cuts on the team. He narrowed down the team to fifteen girls and Daija is one of the fifteen. She does not win the choreographer's challenge at the competition.
Daija makes cuts for the freestyling round and she beats both the Virtuous Divine dancer and the Xplosive Dance Company dancer.
Miss D reveals there is a duet this week and she wants to showcase a style that is not majorette. She asks which girls would like to try out and Faith, Daija, Makya, and Ken'Janae all volunteer. Daija comes up with a jazz routine and the coaches like it and she and Faith are chosen for the duet. The pair will do a ballet duet and Mr Torrey will coach them.
The duet impresses the judges of the competition and the girls get joint first place with Too Much Dance. The duet had points deducted for the dance being too long.
The girls are taught a routine by a choreographer called Rhapsody and she notes that Daija does particularly well.
At the competition, Daija takes part in the choreographer's challenge but she is cut in the third round.
Daija tries out for the mirror-mirror challenge with Tanesha, however she does not get chosen by Dianna.
The girls prepare for an audition at the Braodway Dance Center by doing intensive classes with Kayla and Mr Torrey.
The girls do the technique audition first and Daija makes it through this first round. The second audition is a commercial dance audition and Daija is cut.
Dianna holds auditions for the solo for the Battle Royale this week and Daija auditions. Her audition goes well and she moves on to the final six.
The Dolls are doing a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-inspired creative dance and Daija is cast as the character Augustus Gloop.
The competition has a senior trio and a baby trio. Daija, Faith, and Kanarie are chosen for the senior trio. The trio is jungle-themed. The trio lose to the Prancing Tigerettes.
The Dolls are split in half this week with one team being led by Crystianna and the other being led by Camryn. The teams were tasked with creating a routine for a song in Todrick Hall's Wizard of Oz-inspired musical. Daija is on Crystianna's team and she is cast as the character Dorothy.
The team perform well and the judges like the team's costumes and storyline. They beat Camryn's team and they get to perform their routine on stage with Todrick at his concert in Atlanta, Georgia.
After only three girls raise their hands to audition for the liturgical solo this week, Miss D storms out in anger. Dana comes inside the Dollhouse and asks the Dolls why no one else wanted to do it. Daija said she did not want to do the solo.
The Dolls are preparing to audition for the national competition next week. She auditions in a group with Princess and Crystianna. Daija makes it through the hip hop audition, the jazz audition, and the lyrical audition and she is chosen as one of the top five girls who will compete at nationals.
Season 5[]
If You Can't Stand The Heat...
Daija is one of six girls in the running for the captain's position.
Daija auditions to take part in the call-out round at the competition but she is unsuccessful.
Miss D holds auditions for the Captain's Battle this week and Daija is chosen. She performs a lot of tricks during the Captain's Battle during the competition and Miss D is impressed with Daija's ability to perform many difficult dance moves with a lot of control. Daija wins the Captain's Battle.
Daija competes to be the captain of the Dolls for the week but Crystianna is chosen.
Miss D cuts down the potential captain's from six to three and Daija does not make the final three candidates.
The two finalists for the captains position is Makya and Crystianna and the Dolls are split in two with Makya and Crystianna as team captains. Daija is on Makya's team.
So You Think You Can Choreograph?
The seniors are tasked with creative a trio and Miss D will choose which one will compete at the competition. Daija is in Faith's team with Kanarie and Jaylene. Their trio is Bratz-themed. Dianna asks to see each trio and she likes Faith's teams trio. Team Faith and Team Camryn are the final trio's up for contention.
On the final day of practice, Faith's trio performs well but Dianna chooses Camryn's trio.
At the competition, Daija is used to create the scene of a race car driver for Camryn's NASCAR-themed trio.
A Boy, A Kiss, And A Choreographer
Miss D splits the team into pairs and she gives the pairs one hour to some up with a routine. Daija and Jaylene pair up and Faith coaches them. The duet is based off of Faith's relationship with her mother. Daija and Jaylene perform their duet for Dianna and Dianna chooses them to represent the team at the competition.
On the second day of practice, Daija and Jaylene are struggling with the stunts and dancing together. Faith and Dianna are not impressed with the duo.
On the third day of practice, the pair have picked up the choreography well but Faith worries that they are not showing any emotion in the routine.
On the day of the competition, Daija and Jaylene are feeling nervous. They perform well and Dana is touched by the performance. They win second place.
Daija auditions for Faith's music video and she manages to get through two rounds of cuts. She features in the music video.
Daija is going on tour with the veterans of the Dolls and they start practising for the tour this week.
